Caramel Candy Bars

1 cup plus 2 T. butter

1 cup plus 2 T. brown sugar

1 1/2 cups flour

1 1/2 cups oatmeal

3/4 teaspoon baking soda

pinch of salt

1 cup chocolate chips

1 cup nuts

1 package caramels

1/2 cup cream

  

Mix first 6 ingredients together and pat 1/2 of the mixture in a 9” x 13” pan.  Sprinkle with 1 cup chocolate chips and 1 cup nuts.  Bake 8-10 minutes at 350˚.  

Melt 1 package caramels and 1/2 cup cream.  Pour over baked mixture and pat remaining mixture on top.  Bake 12-15 minutes at 350˚.
